Partita

This is a small partition manager developed to fit completely within the PC's 512-byte partition sector.

Though small, this manager will (when you turn on your computer):

  • Show every available (bootable) partition, using user-defined names;
  • Choose from which partition to boot;
  • Automatically select one partition to boot, if one is not selected within a certain timeout;
  • Allow you to "hide partitions" where the partition you selected changes the codes of other partitions so as not to recognise them;
  • Fixes year 2000 problems (Y2K) in computers with a BIOS with problems of this type.

This solution:

  • Doesn't take any disk space (i.e., uses space that is currently under-used);
  • Doesn't take any of the 4 precious partition entries available on every PC;
  • Is 100% compatible with any operating system.

The program code that installs the new partition manager runs on the DOS command line (it needs DOS 2 or above, but protections at the level of direct disk access - needed to install this partition code - prevent it from operating under Windows NT or 2000), and is in English.

Please read the readme.txt file for more details.

ExportSQL

ExportSQL is a free Microsoft Access (95, 97 or 2000) script that will convert your Access database into a series of SQL commands (written on a text file) prepared to generate the same data and database structure in:

  • mSQL v1;
  • mSQL v2;
  • MySQL.

This script has gained an enormous popularity amongst Web professionals, since the most popular UNIX databases are those described above. In order to use it, you need knowledge at the programmer level.

Once again, the script in itself is in English. You may check out its page (where you will find news and FAQs) at http://www.cynergi.net/exportsql.

FlopImg

FlopImg generates floppy disk images on hard disk, and recovers floppy disks from those recorded images. The images are not in any proprietary format: FlopImg detects which format to record on the floppy disk from the image file size.

This simple functionality (which is allied to the simultaneous formatting and verification of floppy disks) is extremely useful in system recovery backup copies.

Though it was created in late 1999 and under Windows NT 4, FlopImg only needs DOS 2 or above and 50kb of available RAM memory. It runs on the DOS command line and is in English.

Please read the readme.txt file for more details.
